In this powerful exploration of Scripture, we journey through the promise of transformation found in Ezekiel 11, where God declares 'I will' repeatedly—a divine guarantee that He will fulfill His promises in our lives. The passage reveals that even when we find ourselves in exile, in places we don't want to be, God Himself becomes our sanctuary. Whether we're struggling in our marriages, battling illness, or feeling trapped in unfulfilling careers, the presence of Jesus meets us exactly where we are. The reading culminates in God's magnificent promise to remove our hearts of stone and give us hearts of flesh—new hearts that desire obedience and righteousness. This isn't about following more rules; it's about falling in love with God's Word and allowing Him to chisel away our old nature until we genuinely want to live for Him. The resurrection account in Luke 24 beautifully fulfills this promise, showing us that when our eyes are opened to see Jesus—particularly in the breaking of bread—our stone hearts are replaced with living hearts that can encounter the risen Christ. When we're experiencing doubt or trouble, the antidote is simple yet profound: fix our eyes on Jesus, touch Him, see Him, and gaze upon His beauty. The journey concludes in Revelation 22 with the ultimate homecoming—not just heaven as a place, but the intimate reality of seeing His face, of being so close to Jesus that we're like children sitting in His lap, looking up at the One whose eyes burn with fire for us.
