In this powerful session, we explore the sobering message of Ezekiel 19, which challenges us to examine what legacy we're passing to the next generation. The chapter presents a haunting image of young lions raised to become predators—devouring men, seizing widows, and laying waste to cities. This raises a critical question for all of us: What are we teaching our children, not just through our words, but through the way we live? Are we modeling godly character, self-reliance, and respect, or are we inadvertently showing them patterns of destruction? The discussion reminds us that while our upbringing shapes us, we ultimately become responsible for our own choices as adults. We then journey into John 8, where religious leaders try to trap Jesus with a woman caught in adultery. Their selective application of the law—bringing only the woman and not the man—reveals their hypocrisy. Jesus's response, 'Let anyone without sin cast the first stone,' exposes the pride and self-righteousness that blinds us to our own failures. This passage beautifully foreshadows Christ's entire mission: to offer grace and freedom rather than condemnation. The woman walks away forgiven, while Jesus declares Himself the light of the world. We're reminded that true freedom comes through the Son, and that we're all slaves to sin until Christ sets us free. The challenge for us today is clear: Are we using the freedom Christ gave us to draw others into His kingdom, or are we squandering it?
