In this powerful session, we journey through four distinct passages that weave together a sobering message about the condition of our hearts and our relationship with God. Beginning with Ezekiel 25, we confront an uncomfortable truth: rejoicing in someone else's misfortune is a serious sin that carries consequences. The passage warns that when we mock or celebrate the downfall of others, including nations like Israel, we open ourselves to judgment and infiltration by forces contrary to God's purposes. This isn't just ancient history—it's a mirror held up to our modern world where we see the consequences of abandoning godly principles. Moving into John 14, we discover the antidote to our troubles: abiding in the Father. Jesus offers peace that doesn't rise and fall with circumstances but settles deep in our spirits when everything around us feels unstable. The beautiful imagery of rooms being added to the Father's house reminds us that there's always space at the table, always room for one more in God's kingdom. Second Timothy 3 brings us face to face with the reality that everyone desiring to live godly lives will face persecution, yet all Scripture equips us for every good work. The chapter concludes in Revelation 2 with Jesus addressing the churches directly, calling out sexual immorality and the loss of first love while encouraging perseverance through suffering. Throughout these passages, we're reminded that sanctification is a process—like stones being smoothed by water over time—and that God's correction comes from love, not rejection.
