This powerful teaching takes us through the unexpected beauty of exile and wilderness seasons in our spiritual journey. Through Jeremiah 29, we discover that God's instructions to the exiled Israelites weren't about survival mode—they were about thriving. We're challenged to examine our own attitudes when we find ourselves in places we didn't choose: Are we withholding our gifts, waiting for the 'right' season? Or are we building houses, planting gardens, and multiplying even in exile? The call to 'seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you' confronts our tendency to complain about our circumstances rather than bless them. This isn't just about geographic location—it's about blessing the churches we attend, the leaders we serve under, and the communities we inhabit. The womb imagery reminds us that incubation periods aren't punishment; they're preparation. We're warned against breaking the water prematurely, rushing out of God's timing into our own ambitions. Mark's Gospel reinforces this with immediacy and urgency—Jesus moving with purpose, yet always grounded in prayer. The leper's cry, 'If you are willing, you can make me clean,' met with Jesus's compassionate 'I am willing' reminds us that the whole world is searching for Him, not for us. Our role is simply to bring people to the Door, and Jesus does the healing and deliverance.
