This powerful session takes us through a journey of dependence, preparation, and spiritual awakening. We begin in Genesis 47, where we witness how slavery began—not through force, but through dependence. The Egyptians became enslaved to Pharaoh because they relied on him for provision during famine, trading first their money, then their livestock, then their land, and finally their freedom. This serves as a sobering reminder that whatever we depend upon, we become enslaved to. God desires to be our only true source, not our governments, not our circumstances, not our resources. We also see Jacob blessing Pharaoh, demonstrating the principle that we should bless those who bless our children. The chapter ends with a beautiful picture of covenant and promise—Israel dying in Egypt, yet passing the dream to Joseph, reminding us that sometimes God's promises must be buried like seeds before they can bear fruit. Are we holding onto God's dreams for our lives even when they seem impossible? Are we willing to let them die so they can produce a harvest? This Holy Week, we're challenged to examine our dependencies and return to total reliance on God alone.
