Today's journey through Scripture takes us deep into the heart of what it means to live with eternal perspective. We begin with Ecclesiastes 9, where Solomon wrestles with life's fleeting nature and the reality that death comes to all. Yet we discover something Solomon didn't fully know—the hope we have in Jesus Christ transforms everything. While Solomon saw only life 'under the sun,' we live under the S-O-N, with the promise of eternal life. The passage challenges us to eat our bread with joy and drink our wine with a merry heart, not in despair but in celebration of God's approval. Isaiah 63 then reveals Jesus in stunning detail—the One who comes in crimson garments, treading the winepress alone, bringing salvation through His own arm. We see the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit woven throughout, reminding us that God is not distant but intimately near as our Father. The call to holiness rings clear: we must turn from old ways of divination, witchcraft, and worldly practices that grieve the Holy Spirit. Finally, we encounter the sobering story of King Manasseh in 2 Chronicles 33, whose repentance teaches us that restoration requires action—tearing down idols, rebuilding altars, and physically returning to God. These passages together challenge us to live fully in the present while keeping our eyes fixed on eternity, to embrace the hope that transforms death from an ending into a beginning, and to actively pursue restoration when we've strayed from God's path.
