This powerful session takes us on a journey through Scripture that confronts us with one of the most challenging questions of our faith: Are we alert and awake in this critical hour? Beginning with the sobering account in Jeremiah 41 of betrayal at the table, we're reminded that evil can wear the mask of friendship. The image of Ishmael murdering Gedaliah while breaking bread together echoes forward to Judas betraying Jesus, calling us to examine our own hearts with the prayer: 'Keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.' As we move into Mark 13, Jesus delivers His urgent warnings to the disciples—and to us—about the end times. His repeated commands ring through the centuries: 'See that no one leads you astray,' 'Do not be alarmed,' 'Be on your guard,' 'Do not be anxious,' and most importantly, 'Stay awake.' In our age of constant news cycles and social media distractions, we're challenged to turn off the noise that dulls our spiritual senses and return to the voice of God in His Word. The message is clear: we cannot allow ourselves to be lulled to sleep by the culture around us or consumed by fear of what we see happening in the world. Instead, we must remain spiritually vigilant, grounded in prayer, and anchored in the truth that when the systems of this world shake and collapse, God's presence is moving from buildings into people—we have become His temple.
