What does it look like to cry out to God from the absolute depths of despair? In this gathering, we explore one of Scripture's most vivid pictures of rock bottom and restoration through the story of Jonah in the belly of the fish. Jonah chapter 2 reveals something profound: it was not the physical darkness or the suffocating walls of flesh that undid Jonah most deeply. It was the sense of being separated from God. That distinction cuts to the heart of what true repentance looks like. Being sorry for consequences is one thing. Being broken over distance from God is something else entirely. We also walk through Isaiah 17, where whole nations face their own version of the same reckoning, stripped of their strength and forced to look toward their Maker. Whether it is one man in a fish or entire cities crumbling, the turning point is always the same: eyes lifted toward the Holy One. The thread running through all of this is the mercy of God, which meets us not after we have cleaned ourselves up, but right in the middle of the mess. We do not have to wait until life is put back together to call on Him. He hears us from the depths, just as He heard Jonah. That is not a small thing. That is everything.
