Genesis 3 unveils the profound moment when humanity's relationship with God was fractured—not just by disobedience, but by shame. We see Adam and Eve adding to God's command, feeding their lustful desires, and then hiding from the One who loved them most. But woven throughout this chapter of the Fall is the scarlet thread of redemption: the first sacrifice, the first covering, and the prophetic promise that the serpent's head would be crushed by the woman's offspring. This is Jesus breaking into our brokenness. What Adam failed to do in the Garden of Eden—standing firm against temptation and leading with godly authority—Jesus fulfilled in the Garden of Gethsemane. The crown of thorns, the bruised heel, the blood covenant that started with animal skins all point to the cross. As we step into this new year, we're challenged to release the shame that separates us from God. The veil has been torn. We no longer need to hide. Men are called to lead their homes with conviction, repeating God's truth and taking responsibility rather than shifting blame. All of us are invited to walk in the freedom that Christ's sacrifice purchased—no more hiding, no more shame, only restored intimacy with our Creator.
