In this powerful session, we journey through the depths of human suffering and the heights of God's faithfulness as revealed in Lamentations 3. We discover that even in our darkest moments, when we feel overwhelmed by affliction, there's a transformative practice of recalling God's character to our minds. The prophet Jeremiah models for us how to shake ourselves free from despair by intentionally remembering God's mercies that are new every morning, His unfailing compassion, and His great faithfulness. We're challenged to examine the posture we take during our struggles—do we grumble and complain, or do we lift our hands in worship even when everything around us is falling apart? The session reminds us that true praise has merit when we can worship God in the middle of the mess, not just in comfortable church services. We also explore Jesus' teaching on persistent prayer in Luke 11, learning that our persistence reflects trust, not manipulation. The Father delights in giving us the Holy Spirit when we ask, and we're encouraged to fill the empty spaces in our lives with God's Word and presence, guarding our gates against what we allow into our minds through scrolling and entertainment. Finally, we're called to walk worthy of our calling in Ephesians 4—in lowliness, gentleness, and unity—remembering that every part of the body has a role to play in causing growth in the church.
