Today's reading takes us on a profound journey through judgment, restoration, and the eternal question: who do we say Jesus is? In Jeremiah 16, we encounter a sobering picture of judgment, yet even in the midst of correction, God's heart for restoration shines through. We're challenged to examine what sacrifices we're making to follow God authentically—not just the obvious ones, but the deeper surrenders of our hearts and ambitions. The passage reminds us that God's eyes are on all our ways, seeing not to condemn but to guide us back on track. This theme of restoration echoes powerfully through Matthew 16, where Jesus asks the most important question we'll ever answer: 'Who do you say that I am?' Peter's revelation—that Jesus is the Messiah—came not from human wisdom but from the Father. We're reminded that having our own revelation of Jesus, not borrowed from others, transforms everything. The church is built on this rock of revelation, and the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. As we examine our lives, we're called to ask: are we giving God our best? Are we worshiping Him whether we're alone in our living rooms or surrounded by thousands? The call is clear—get back on track, return to what's sacred, and let the restoration of God sweep through every area of our lives that we haven't even thought to ask about.
