What does it look like when God has had enough? Across four powerful chapters of scripture, we are confronted with a God who is deeply serious about justice, worship, and the condition of our hearts. In Amos 5, we encounter a divine lament over a people whose religious festivals, grand ceremonies, and elaborate songs had become hollow noise in the ears of God. The sobering truth is that outward religious activity means nothing when the heart is far from Him. God calls not for performance but for justice to roll like a river and righteousness like a never-failing stream. Isaiah 10 deepens this theme, reminding us that no earthly power, no matter how dominant, operates outside the sovereign hand of God. Nations and rulers who believe they are acting by their own strength are, without knowing it, instruments in the hand of the Almighty. For us, this is both a warning and a profound comfort. We are never at the mercy of circumstances or corrupt systems. God sees the vulnerable, the widow, the orphan, and the poor, and His eye never wanders from them. Together, these passages invite us to examine our own hearts. Are our gatherings, our worship, and our celebrations truly centered on Him, or have we allowed the rituals and traditions of culture to quietly replace the presence of Jesus? This is a call to return, to repent, and to seek the Lord while He may be found.
