In this powerful session, we journey through Exodus 23, 1 Samuel 24, Psalm 31, and Proverbs 11, discovering Jesus woven throughout each passage. The reading from Exodus reveals God's heart for justice, compassion, and obedience—reminding us that He doesn't deliver us from our struggles all at once because we need to learn dependence on Him. Just as God told Israel He would drive out their enemies little by little, our own battles with addiction, sin, and struggle are conquered day by day, teaching us to rely on the Bread of Life and Living Water. The story of David sparing Saul's life becomes a stunning portrait of Christ's mercy toward us—even when we were His enemies, He chose compassion over condemnation. David's refusal to harm the Lord's anointed, despite having every human reason to strike, challenges us to show the same grace to those who hurt us. We're called not just to love Jesus, but to love our Judas. The Psalms echo Jesus' own words from the cross—'Into your hand I commit my spirit'—while Proverbs contrasts the righteous and the wicked, showing us that our identity as sons and daughters of God must remain our anchor. When we hold fast to who we are in Christ, we can walk in righteousness, extend forgiveness, and trust that God will fight our battles. The enemy only attacks when we're moving forward in our calling, so opposition is often confirmation that we're being used by God.
