What does it look like when a nation forgets God, and what does it look like when we as individuals do the same? In today's gathering, we walk through the sobering words of Nahum chapter three and Isaiah chapter twenty-nine, two prophetic passages that carry an unmistakable warning for anyone willing to listen. Nahum's vivid portrait of Nineveh's downfall is not just ancient history. It is a mirror held up to every heart that has ever experienced genuine conviction, made a real turn toward God, and then slowly drifted back into old patterns. The haunting phrase 'your shepherds are asleep' challenges us to ask an honest question about our own spiritual alertness. Are we commanding our days with intentionality, or are we simply letting life happen around us? Isaiah deepens the conversation by exposing the danger of religion without relationship. When our worship becomes nothing more than rehearsed ritual, when we honor God with our lips while our hearts have quietly wandered elsewhere, we are in the very condition these prophets warned against. Together, these two chapters call us back to something real, something daily, something that goes far beyond a once-a-week encounter with God. The invitation is clear: take ownership of your walk, bring your honest self before the Lord, and allow Him to meet you exactly where you are.
