This powerful session invites us to examine the transformative practice of meeting with God in the morning. Drawing from Exodus 34, we discover Moses ascending Mount Sinai at dawn to encounter the Lord, who descends to meet him there. This beautiful exchange reveals a profound truth: when we make an appointment with God, He keeps it. The passage unveils God's character as merciful, gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love—a revelation of the Messiah that left Moses' face shining with glory. We're challenged to ask ourselves: what would happen in our lives if we intentionally sought God first thing each morning? The reading also explores the theme of honor through David's response to the murder of his enemies in 2 Samuel 4. Despite having every earthly reason to celebrate their deaths, David maintained honor even for those who had persecuted him, refusing to let the sin against him produce sin in him. This heart posture reflects Christ's teaching to bless those who curse us. The session concludes with practical wisdom from Proverbs 22, reminding us that a good name is more valuable than riches, and that our integrity and character are the legacy we leave behind. Throughout these passages, we're called to examine our own hearts: Are we maintaining honor? Are we seeking fresh revelations of Jesus daily? Are we living out the fruit of the Spirit in our closest relationships?
